Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG)

PCCD administers funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG), which replaces the former (Byrne) Drug Control and System Improvement and Local Law Enforcement Block Grant programs. Under JAG, 40% of the funds allocated to Pennsylvania are directly federally awarded to qualifying counties/municipalities with the remainder to be administered and subgranted by PCCD. JAG funds are intended to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime, which may include funding for technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.
